LaLiga is firmly committed to the fight against bullying with the launch of its campaign LaLiga VS Bullying. This project aims to raise awareness among young people and promote a respectful school environment. Through meetings with sports figures, LaLiga intends to convey its strong message: “A team does not leave anyone alone”.
An Initiative Rooted in Sports
The campaign was inaugurated by the visit of Atlético de Madrid defender César Azpilicueta at the CEIP Federico García Lorca school, located in Boadilla del Monte, near Madrid. In collaboration with the LaLiga Foundation, the initiative aims to illustrate the spirit of teamwork in sports to combat bullying. The event was also marked by the presence of Ángel Fernández, director of brand and strategy at LaLiga.
Educational Programs to Raise Awareness
The LaLiga Foundation, through its Futura Afición program, has been working since 2015 to integrate sports values into Spanish schools. This project, in partnership with the Spanish Association for the Prevention of School Bullying (Aepae), provides educational resources to raise awareness among students from a young age. To date, over 85,000 students have participated in the offered activities, with the ambition to reach more children to ensure them a healthy school and sports environment.
Interactive and Educational Activities
Throughout this campaign, educational workshops will be organized. César Azpilicueta led a discussion with students to address ways to combat bullying, highlighting the importance of solidarity and empathy. The children also participated in a fun workshop as part of the Futura Afición program, aimed at helping them identify bullying and take proactive steps to prevent it.
A Call to Action for Young People
With the slogan “A team does not leave anyone alone”, LaLiga calls on young people to take action against bullying. Statistics from Aepae indicate that one in four students in Spain suffers from bullying, and only 10% of witnesses intervene. This project thus highlights the need to unite forces to support victims and face the problem together.
By continuing to organize awareness actions and collaborations with football clubs, LaLiga aims to promote values such as unity, fair play, and camaraderie in sports and schools.
